Algenesis Now Launches Biodegradable, Bio-Based Polyurethane Foam Footbeds

This footbed line is made using Algenesis's proprietary Soleic® polyurethane technology, which provides comfort underfoot without contributing to microplastic pollution. Certified by the USDA's BioPreferred® Program, the Soleic® polyurethane foam contains 57% bio-based content. The footbed's top layer is made of 100% cotton, coated with a durable Soleic® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) coating that contains 76% bio-based content. This ensures long-lasting performance while allowing the product to biodegrade completely at the end of its life, without leaving behind harmful microplastics. Compared to traditional petroleum-based materials, this footbed line reduces greenhouse gas emissions by over 50% starting from the raw material stage.
