India Terminates BIS Certification

Recently, after consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards, relevant Indian government departments have revoked the notification issued by the Indian government on February 26, 2024 (S.O. 920(E)) in a special edition of the Gazette of India, Part 1, Section 3, Subsection (i) (published on February 27, 2024), concerning polyvinyl chloride (PVC) homopolymers, effective immediately. This notification signifies the termination of the Indian Chemicals and Petrochemicals Department's policy on BIS certification for imported PVC, and market speculation suggests that corresponding anti-dumping measures on imported PVC in India are expected to be announced and implemented soon.
