Desalination Membran

LG Chem recently stated that it will supply more than 18,000 reverse osmosis membranes to the Jorf Lasfar Industrial Park operated by Morocco’s state-owned mineral and fertilizer company OCP Group. Jorf Lasfar, located on the Mediterranean coast of northern Africa, is currently the world's largest fertilizer production park, with an annual production capacity of 4 million tons of phosphates and more than 10 million tons of fertilizers.

LG Chem plans to supply reverse osmosis membranes to Jorf Lasfar by May this year. 18,000 reverse osmosis membranes can desalinate 90 million tons of seawater every year and produce domestic water for about 1.9 million people in Morocco. With the demand for rotation operations of seawater desalination facilities, the supply of reverse osmosis membranes is expected to increase to at least 26,000 units in the future.

Previously, LG Chem's reverse osmosis membranes have been installed in some desalination facilities operated by OCP, but this is the first time that a large-scale supply contract has been fulfilled.
