May 11, 2026 – Tosoh Corporation announced that it will adjust the prices of its brominated flame retardants as follows:
Target Product: Brominated flame retardant (Tetrabromobisphenol A / Product name: Flamecut® 120G)
Price Adjustment: Increase of ¥60/kg or more (approximately RMB 2,612/ton) from current prices
Effective Date: From June 1, 2026
Tosoh stated that it has been committed to significant cost reduction and maintaining stable product supply. However, due to the worsening situation in the Middle East, supply concerns from oil-producing countries, and the continued depreciation of the Japanese yen, raw material prices for brominated flame retardants have risen sharply. The cost increase has reached a level that the company cannot absorb on its own, leading to this price adjustment. If raw material and energy costs fluctuate significantly in the future, the company may adjust prices further.
