According to German media reports, an explosion occurred at BASF's Ludwigshafen plant at around 12 noon on July 29, German time.

According to BASF's official website, the explosion occurred at its southern Ludwigshafen plant. The explosion was caused by an organic solvent leak that caused an explosion and fire. At around 12:45 German time, the fire brigade of the BASF plant put out the fire. The plant has been closed and is in a safe state.

BASF said that the explosion caused a total of 15 employees to be slightly injured. After examination and treatment at the BASF Medical Center, all injured employees have left the medical center.

Throughout the accident, BASF's environmental measurement vehicle has been monitoring the air, water and soil in the plant area, and no product was found to form precipitation outflow.

At present, relevant German departments are still investigating the cause of the accident.
