Ningbo Giantup’s "Chemical PDO/PTT Integrated Plant" Successfully Started Up in One Attempt

Recently, the 150,000 tons/year PDO/PTT integrated plant of Ningbo Giantup Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Ningbo Petrochemical Economic & Technological Development Zone, smoothly completed trial runs with feedstock and produced its first batch of qualified products, marking a successful start-up in one attempt. As a major industrial project included in Zhejiang Province's "Thousand Projects, Trillion Investment" initiative, its successful operation not only injects strong momentum into the high-end new materials industrial chain of the zone but also signifies that China has broken the long-term foreign technological monopoly in the field of polyester new materials.

PTT is hailed as the "King of Polyesters". With its excellent resilience, dyeability, and environmental characteristics, it is widely used in key areas such as high-end textiles and engineering plastics.

The plant constructed by Ningbo Giantup is the world's largest single-train PDO/PTT integrated production project. The company has successfully broken through technical barriers by adopting an advanced chemical process route through introduction, digestion, absorption, and re-innovation. Compared to the internationally mainstream biological process route, this technology demonstrates significant advantages in process stability and raw material supply security. It not only eliminates dependence on foreign technology but also establishes an efficient, closed-loop recycling production system.
