On December 4, 2025, the sports recovery brand NAMU announced the launch of its new product — the NAMU SL01 Sports Recovery Slides, designed to provide intelligent recovery and posture correction for sports enthusiasts. This slide is made with Soleic®, the revolutionary 100% biodegradable polyurethane material from Algenesis Labs, making it the first sports recovery slide engineered for both performance and environmental responsibility.

The NAMU recovery slides are equipped with the brand's patented recovery arch support system, uniquely designed to help athletes restore proper foot posture and function with each step. Combined with Soleic® material technology, these slides provide exceptional recovery benefits while eliminating the issue of traditional microplastic pollution, representing a significant breakthrough for both athletes and the planet.
Kevin Massar, President and Head of Product at NAMU, stated: "NAMU's mission is to provide innovative physical recovery solutions for every sports enthusiast. Partnering with Algenesis Labs allows us to deliver a product that not only supports recovery but upholds our values and social responsibility. The NAMU recovery slide sets a new standard for recovery footwear."
Stephen Mayfield, CEO of Algenesis Labs, added: "Soleic® was created to prove that performance and sustainability can work hand in hand. By using plant-based materials, eliminating microplastics, and lowering carbon footprint, we are reshaping the future of footwear. It is an honor to see our technology come to life in the NAMU recovery slides."
The NAMU recovery slides officially went on sale on December 1, 2025, on the NAMU website. Combining cushioned comfort, molded support, and eco-innovation, this slide represents the dawn of a new era in recovery gear.
It is reported that Algenesis Labs has developed bio-based polyols, bio-based polyurethane foam, and bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) from algae and non-food plants, marketed through its B2B material brand Soleic®. Soleic® meets the performance demands of traditional polyurethane applications while addressing one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time: microplastics.
Algenesis Labs' Soleic® bio-based polyester polyol has received USDA BioPreferred certification with 100% bio-based content. Sourced from algae and non-food plants, it does not compete with food supply or contribute to deforestation. This unique polyol can be used to create soft polyurethane foam for shoe midsoles and insoles, or to make bio-based TPU for applications like breathable waterproof textiles and injection-molded products such as phone cases. The original intention behind creating the Soleic® bio-based polyester polyol was for end products to fully biodegrade into carbon dioxide and biomass in compost, soil, and marine environments at the end of their life cycle, avoiding persistent residue in ecosystems.
