On December 29, 2025, Bambu Lab (hereinafter referred to as "Bambu") announced a deep collaboration with FORMISM, the new creative studio under the globally renowned footwear design brand SCRY, to launch digital models for 9 FDM 3D printed shoe designs. This partnership pioneers an "open-source design + personal fabrication" model for obtaining fashionable footwear, dramatically reducing the cost of traditionally expensive 3D printed shoes—often costing several thousand RMB—to merely the price of filament, fundamentally rewriting the rules in the fashion consumption landscape.

The current 3D printed footwear market is still dominated by labels of "limited quantity and high price": Nike's collaborative limited-edition Air Max 1000 with German 3D printing company Zellerfeld retails for $179 and requires a lottery for purchase, while Adidas' Climacool shoe, developed with American 3D printing company Carbon, also has limited release numbers, is priced at $140, and does not support personalization. This "limited and expensive" paradigm stems from brand premium, production capacity constraints, and channel monopolies inherent in traditional manufacturing models. However, the maturation of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing technology is breaking this deadlock.

SCRY, as a leading brand for resin-based (e.g., SLA/DLP) 3D printed footwear, has garnered accolades including the Forbes China Innovative Brand Award and the Red Dot Design Award. Its collaborators include top fashion IPs like GQ, ANNAKIKI, and Shangguan Zhe, and it has a consistent presence on international stages such as Paris Fashion Week. In this collaboration with FORMISM, its new creative studio, both parties have co-developed 9 3D printable shoe model files across three series—「Stream Form」, 「Persona」, and「Wanderer」—by refining and reimagining the language of curves found in natural forms and motion trajectories. These files have been exclusively released on Bambu's MakerWorld community. Among them, the 3 shoe designs of the 「Stream Form」 series are released as free open-source files. Bambu has also officially launched sales of its TPU 90A Silver filament. The 「Persona」 and 「Wanderer」 series will be released globally on MakerWorld in a crowdfunding format. This means users need only search for the 「Stream Form」 digital shoe models on the Bambu MakerWorld platform, click "One-Click Print," and can then produce fashionable sneakers at home using TPU 90A or 85A filament. The cost of acquiring trendy footwear is thus reduced to just the price of the printing materials.

This collaboration represents more than just an interdisciplinary fusion of technology and design. It genuinely enables, for the first time, true shoe size customization, free color configuration, and permanent reuse of designs, effectively democratizing the power of fashion creation down to the individual. It also signifies a leap for 3D printing technology from an "industrial tool" to an "infrastructure for personal creativity." Through an open ecosystem and technology democratization, Bambu Lab is turning its vision of bringing 3D printing into every household into reality.
