On December 1, 2025, Huntsman Corporation announced via its official website that the company is currently experiencing an unplanned outage at its polyurethanes facility located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which is expected to have a negative impact of approximately $10 million on its adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2025. The larger of the two MDI production lines at the facility is affected and is expected to resume production by mid-December.
Due to this outage, management currently expects the adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2025 to be at the low end of the $25 million to $50 million range communicated on November 6, 2025. Excluding the impact of this outage, the quarter’s performance would have been in line with previous expectations.
According to earlier overseas market reports, Huntsman's 280,000-ton-per-year MDI unit in Rotterdam experienced an unexpected equipment failure and was shut down around November 21, and maintenance is currently underway. Meanwhile, its other 160,000-ton-per-year MDI unit is operating normally.
