According to news on February 26, the Indonesian Biaxially Oriented Film Association (ABOFI) stated that in order to control the proliferation of plastic film imports, it is planning to impose anti-dumping import duties (BMAD) on plastic packaging imported from China and Malaysia.
"Anti-dumping investigations into products imported from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and China have proven that imported products generally enter at dumping prices lower than Indonesian industrial production prices," said ABOFI Chairman Santoso Samudra. According to the investigation results of the Indonesian Anti-dumping Commission, BMAD must be implemented immediately for imported products that have been proven to use dumping prices.
In addition, Document No. 1 of the Indonesian Minister of Trade Supervision (Permendag) also mentioned the implementation of a limited import ban on plastic raw materials.
