Jinan Petrochemical began its preparation in April 1971 and officially commenced production in July 1975. After more than 30 years of development, the company has evolved from a small-to-medium-sized refinery with an annual crude oil processing capacity of 500,000 tons into a large integrated petrochemical enterprise with a comprehensive annual crude oil processing capacity of 5 million tons, integrating both refining and chemical production. In 1990, it was recognized as a national large-scale petrochemical enterprise. Since 1991, it has been one of China's top 500 large key enterprises and one of the top 500 enterprises with the best economic performance.
