SABIC Innovative Plastics was officially established in September 2007 as a new business division following Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC)'s acquisition of GE Plastics. SABIC and SABIC Innovative Plastics collectively employ approximately 30,000 people worldwide, with offices in nearly 60 countries and regions. As a global supplier of plastic resins, SABIC Innovative Plastics provides products widely used in automotive, healthcare, consumer electronics, transportation, finished packaging, construction, telecommunications, and optical media industries. The company manufactures and synthesizes polycarbonate, ABS, ASA, PPE, PC/ABS, PBT, and PEI resins, as well as the LNP* line of high-performance specialty composites. The Specialty Film & Sheet division of SABIC Innovative Plastics produces high-performance Lexan* sheet and film products, which are utilized in thousands of demanding applications worldwide. The dedicated automotive business unit of SABIC Innovative Plastics is an experienced, globally integrated organization delivering advanced plastic solutions for five major automotive sectors.
