CNOOC LG Chemical Co., Ltd. is a limited liability company jointly established by CNOOC Refining and Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and LG Chem, Ltd., with each party holding 50% equity. Upon commissioning, its estimated annual sales revenue is projected to reach RMB 5 billion. (CNOOC Refining and Petrochemical is a wholly state-owned company funded by CNOOC, one of China's three major national oil companies. LG Chem is a subsidiary of LG Group, one of South Korea's three largest conglomerates, and is the largest comprehensive chemical company in South Korea.)The company utilizes internationally advanced process technology to construct a 300,000-ton-per-year ABS unit and its corresponding auxiliary facilities. Its products primarily focus on high-grade materials and special-purpose materials, widely used in electronics and electrical appliances, automotive industry, construction materials, instruments and meters, and other fields. Upon completion, the company will become the largest and most technologically advanced producer and seller of ABS special-purpose materials and high-grade general-purpose materials in China. It will be the only ABS producer in South China, holding a leading position in the industry.
